Himachal gears up for covid vaccination

Shimla, Dec 9 (UNI) Health Secretary Amitabh Avasthi on Wednesday said that preparations for making vaccine available to people in a phased manner have been completed.

Chief Secretary Anil Khachi also presided over the meeting of state steering Committee and took various important decisions in this regard.
Secretary Health said that as per the directions of Central Government, initially the vaccine would be given to 80,000 health care workers and other front line workers, including police, sanitation workers, etc. He said that health workers of government and non government organisations would be included in it and other people would be given vaccination in phased manner after that.
He said that preparations for storage facility of vaccines have also been completed. About 386 places have been identified at various locations in the state for storage of vaccine.
Secretary said that an extensive campaign would be organised in the state for making the vaccine available to people, for which 3700 vaccinators would be providing their services. Necessary training and tools would be provided to the vaccinators and preparations for disposal of biomedical wastes have also been made.
Mission Director Nipun Jindal gave detailed presentation in this regard.
Additional Chief Secretary Sanjay Gupta, Principal Secretary K.K. Pant, Secretary Urban Development Rajneesh and Secretary Ayurveda Dr. Ajay Kumar were also present in the meeting.

More than 7 lakh MT procured in MP

Bhopal, Dec 9 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Minister Bisahulal Singh expressed satisfaction on Wednesday over the fact that 7,54,861 metric tonnes of kharif yield have been acquired from peasants.
This comprises 5,39,008 MT paddy; 1,90,270 MT millet and 25,583 MT jowar. Until now, Rs 619 crore have been electronically disbursed to cultivators. As many as 1,552 procurement centres have been set up. A total 7,81,168 tillers registered for sale of crop. Till this juncture; 5,67,249 MT have been transported from centres to godowns, an official release said.

Business complex to come up in MP capital

Bhopal, Dec 9 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Urban Development and Housing Minister Bhupendra Singh performed bhoomi pujan on Wednesday for a commercial complex at the state capital’s New Market, official sources said.
“Instead of 45 platforms in the area; 45 outlets will be constructed on the ground floor, 20 on the first and 20 on the second floor at a projected expenditure of Rs 1.66 crore,” the senior politician said.

“While on the one hand, daily work relating to the populace should continue seamlessly, there must be regular action on primary subjects pertaining to Madhya Pradesh’s self-reliance and administration. Continuous monitoring and ranking of all departments will be effectuated via the CM Dashboard,” the senior politician was officially quoted as saying while videoconferencing with commissioners, inspectors general, collectors and police superintendents.

Couple booked after heroin and cash recovered from them
