SONIPAT: Made-in-Punjab firewood-fuelled geysers will provide the protesting farmers hot baths through their winter siege of Delhi.
Punjab youth Balkar Singh of Sangrur carried this heating system to the Singhu border via Jind.
Thought for the elderly and the disabled drove Balkar Singh.
This locally-made geyser can heat 15 litre water, sufficient for two people, and works uninterrupted. Firewood keeps it going round the clock.
Pleased to get a hot bath, elderly farmers said now they had everything to dig in for a long fight.
Balkar Singh said: “I left my brother’s wedding for this cause. These farmers are fighting for the common man and our future, so we also have some duties towards them. I knew they didn’t have hot water or electricity, so I found a local-made solution. Punjabis have even postponed their weddings for supporting this struggle. Now the general public has joined the agitation. The central government will have to step down because the farmers are warmed up for a long battle.”
