Ludhiana, December 9

Over 10 months have passed, the Ludhiana Police Commissionerate has failed to recover the 2 kg gold looted by gangsters from VK Jewellers in Ghumar Mandi. Owner Vinay Jain today visited the Police Commissioner’s office to urge the top cop to expedite the probe in the case so that his gold jewellry could be recovered.

Notably on January 29, this year, masked robbers barged into VK Jewellers in Ghumar Mandi, where they had held the owner Vinay and worker captive and looted 2 kg gold worth Rs 90 lakh.

Earlier the police had arrested two accused Bhushan Kumar and Vishnu Soni, alias Sam, of Ganesh Nagar and recovered a pistol of .315 bore along with four live cartridges from Soni. Accused Sam was arrested by the Khanna police. Bhushan had died in jail due to some illness. Later, the key accused, Tajinder Singh, alias Teja, of Nawanshehr, was also arrested by the OCCU wing of the Punjab Police. Then, the police had said Tajinder was mobilising funds for a spate of targeting killings as a part of pro- Khalistan agenda but no gold was recovered from the suspect.

Vinay said the CP assured that a probe in the case was still on and teams were already on the job to arrest the Delhi-based accused, Jaswinder Singh Honey, of Rajouri Garden, Delhi, as the entire looted gold was said to be with Honey. Other accused Daya Singh Laddu of Amritsar was also at large in the case.

Notably, the Ludhiana police had also conducted raids in Delhi and other places to nab the remaining accused, Honey. `— TNS
