According to a survey it was found that there is a clear east-west divide when it comes to the seroprevalence of antibodies against COVID-19 infection in Ahmedabad city.

The October round of COVID serology survey conducted on 22,492 people in the city indicated how posh western areas of Ahmedabad developed comparatively low levels of immunity against the COVID virus.

In all just 19% of the 6,458 people tested in the posh west, north-west, and south-west zones city were found to have coveted antibodies against the coronavirus.

Areas in these three zones include Jodhpur, Bodakdev, Thaltej, Sarkhej, Vejalpur, Ghatlodia, Chandlodia, Ranip Gota, and Kali, Paldi, Ambawadi, Navramngpura, SP Stadium, Naranpura, Nava, and Juna Wadaj. Today, these areas report over half of the 250 to 270 cases of COVID cases reported daily in the city which battles the second surge in Covid-19 infection.

During the first wave from March-end till early July, eastern Ahmedabad, comprising central, south and east zones reported more than 72% of the total COVID cases.
