Slovak Telekom has deployed a private 5G network for the R&D centre CEIT based in the city of Zilina, in the neighbourhood of Zilina University. The private campus network will enable CEIT to develop new solutions in Industry 4.0. The operator has also launched its 5G network on the 2,100 MHz band in Bratislava, covering eight neighbourhoods.
Download speeds vary depending on the location, from 300 Mbps to 600 Mbps, while uploads range from 100 Mbps to 120 Mbps. 5G services can be used on the Apple iPhone 12 phones, Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra, Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra, the Huawei P40 Pro and Mate 40 Pro, the Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro and 10T Lite, and the OnePlus 8T.
The neighbourhoods covered include Petrzalka, Ruzinov, Nove Mesto, Trnavka, Vajnory, Vrakuna, Podunajske Biskupice, and Devinska Nova Ves.
