Divya Bhatnagar's tragic demise due to COVID-19 has left many heartbroken. However, the backstory of her marriage has shocked her friends and colleagues evermore. Divya Bhatnagar had married Gagan Gabru last year. The actress had been recently hospitalised as she complained of breathlessness and fever. Her condition deteriorated and the actress breathed her last on Monday early morning. A day after her demise, Devoleena had affirmed Divya Bhatnagar's mother's allegations of her husband, Gagan Gabru being a fraud. Devoleena has posted a heartfelt video revealing that Gagan had been locked up in jail for six months in a molestation case. She also vowed to bring Divya to justice. Divya Bhatnagar's brother, Devashish took to her Instagram handle and shared a letter that the Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai actress had written a month before her demise. It's a thank you note for her friends and her fans which he found in her cupboard. Devoleena Bhattacharjee commented on the post. The Saath Nibhana Saathiya actress is still in shock and is not able to come to terms with her dear friend's demise yet. Devashish had spoken to Times of India earlier and revealed about Gagan Gabru's abuse towards his sister. "Gagan started torturing Divya physically and mentally soon after their marriage. She had written a note on November 7, in which she had stated that Gagan tortures and abuses her. We found the note in her cupboard yesterday. She had also approached the police and filed an NC on November 16 against him, following an episode of domestic abuse. I had told her to stay strong when I got to talk to her during her hospitalisation," he had told the portal.
