Rs 703 cr for expanding medical facilities in MP

Bhopal, Dec 8 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh Government accorded revised approval on Tuesday to a Rs 223.75-crore proposal instead of an earlier Rs 202.40 cr one for the under-construction 300-bed infirmary at the Medical College in Shivpuri plus Rs 479.27 cr for buildings to be constructed vis-à-vis the 2,000-bed hospital on the state capital’s Gandhi Medical College campus, it was officially learnt.
The related online meeting of the Cabinet had Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in the Chair.

A sum of Rs 111.55 cr is to be expended – with an additional third revised required amount of Rs 19.55 cr – for environmental upgrading and conservation of the Shivpuri lakes under the National Lake Conservation Plan with a central component of Rs 29.04 cr. A decision was taken regarding the eligibility matrix for land acquisition, rehabilitation and resettlement for implementation of the metro rail project in Bhopal and Indore. Eligibility gap funding entitlement was terminated for all public service centres in the lockdown period due to closure of the facilities from March 25 to May 31. A November 10 order by the Commercial Tax Department – to grant proportionate exemption in bar license fees to stakeholders of the tourism and hospitality sector from April 1 to August 31 – was ratified. The Municipal Law (Second Amendment) Bill was sanctioned.

War against COVID-19: MP’s body count rises to 3,358

Bhopal, Dec 8 (UNI) The fatality figure owing to the ‘millennium scourge’ mounted to 3,358 on Tuesday in Madhya Pradesh where 11 fresh demises were reported even as the infected tally also rose with 1,345 more sufferers being detected during analysis of 29,985 specimens.
A Health Services Directorate bulletin issued tonight pegged the active cases at 13,280. Indore District continued to have the dubious distinction of spawning the highest 516 new instances, Bhopal 315, Jabalpur 49, Gwalior 43, Sagar and Ratlam 31 each, Rewa 25, Shivpuri 22, Khargone 20, Balaghat 18, Satna 17, Dewas and Betul 15 each, Hoshangabad 12, etc. The silver lining is that 2,00,667 individuals recuperated; 1,497 of them on this very day.
