UAE’s Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) said it has foiled 821,028 cyber attacks in the UAE in the year to November, Emarat Al Youm reported. The TRA said cyber attacks have increased amid covid-19 lockdown measurs. The TRA prevented 77,683 cyberattacks in November alone. At least 47 percent of the cyber attacks were malicious software, which are designed to destroy electronic systems and programmes.
The TRA found that 39 percent and 14 percent of the cyber attacks were security breaches and phishing, respectively. The TRA had fixed 465 cyber attacks, including five, 292 and 168 incidents that were serious, medium and simple, respectively.
