Moga Police arrests 5 for assaulting policemen and snatching rifle

Moga, Dec 9 (UNI) The district police claimed to have arrested five accused responsible for assaulting
policemen on intervening night of Sunday injuring two of them and fleeing with their rifle.
The injured policemen were Major Singh ASHO and Home Guard Jawan Sukhwinder Singh at Jalalabad of Dharamkot in the district.
SSP Harmanbir Singh Gill claimed here Wednesday that police on a tip off after sealing the village launched search of houses and all five were arrested from house where they were hiding. Police also recovered AK-47 rifle they snatched from the police personnel. The incident happened under influence of liquor.
According to SSP, five arrested identified as Inderjit Singh, Jagjit Singh, Gurpreet Singh,
Gurdeep Singh and Jaspal Singh are all residents of the same village. Three other wanted are still at large.
