Two students of the Department of Zoology, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), brought laurels to their alma mater by qualifying the CSIR-UGC NET and bagged the Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (INSPIRE) fellowship.
Vibhu Vaid, another PhD scholar of the department, was awarded the INSPIRE fellowship by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, to pursue her PhD research on “Single and combined effects of polyethylene microplastic and untreated sewage water on Common carp Cyprinus carpio L”.
Mona Sharma, a PhD research scholar of the Department of Zoology, qualified the UGC-NET exam and was awarded Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) by CSIR-UGC, for pursuing her PhD.
Dr Baldev Singh Dhillon, Vice-Chancellor, PAU; Dr GK Sangha, Dean, Postgraduate Studies; and Dr Neena Singla, Principal Zoologist (Rodents) and Head, Department of Zoology, congratulated both students.
