Police fines SOP violators

Imphal, December 08 2020: The police department continues to crack down on violators of guidelines and restrictions issued by the Government and the State Disaster Management Authority in connection with COVID-19 pandemic, including failure to wear mask in public places, failure to maintain social distancing in public places, spitting in public places, etc.

to prevent the spread of Covid-19 virus in the state.

During today's drive, 288 persons were detained and released later after warning and a total fine of Rs 52,480/- was also collected as per law.

The police department hereby warns that those who violate the guidelines and restrictions shall be dealt with strong legal action under National Disaster Management Act, 2005 and other applicable laws.
