EBADA conducts farmer training programme in Senapati

Imphal, December 08 2020: The Eastern Border Areas Development Authority (EBADA) chaired by the Chief Minister of the State under the Directorate of Horticulture and Soil Conservation conducted farmers training on Promotion of Integrated Horticulture Farming System in shifting cultivation areas of Manipur and Promotion of small holder value chain system in organic horticulture crops cultivation in Manipur in Chawai Namai village, Oinam village and Purul Akutpi village in Senapati District from December 5 till 7.The training programme was conducted by an expert team of EBADA under the leadership of its Project Director N Loyalakpa.

N Loyalakpa stated that the village level training programme is being conducted by EBADA under the supervision of its chairman N Biren Singh, the Chief Minister of the State and Member Secretary and Additional Chief Secretary P Vaiphei and is sponsored by North Eastern Council, Shillong, Government of India.

Over 100 farmers participated in the training adhering to the COVID-19 SOPs.

The training stressed on the importance of stopping Jhum cultivation by the farmers so as to conserve the environment.

And also emphasised on how to produce vegetables and fruits in large quantities.

Various farmers and the experts of EBADA talked on topics in the interest of the farmers.

EBADA further stated that it has been conducting training programmes for the farmers and donating necessary equipments to help the farmers such as Kubota power tiller, Bolero pick up vehicle, poly house, green house, water reserve tank, solar power pump etc.
