BJP leaders quit party over 3 agri laws

Palghar, Dec 8 (UNI) The BJP in Vasai-Virar region of the district suffered a major setback on Tuesday when a senior party leader and member of the core committee tendered his resignation of the primary membership of the party in protest of the three agri laws and walked out along with a couple of other leaders.
Talking to media in Vasai, the leader, Sachin Raut, said that the agri laws that were being thrust on the farmers were not in interest of the farmers.
”I do not agree with it, I am also a son of a farmer. Cannot tolerate it any more," he said.
He also hit out at the privatization of public sector undertakings being carried out in the country and said under such circumstances there would be no government jobs left out, he said.
Mr Raut was the former vice-president of the party in Vasai-Virar Municipal Corporation limits and also a member of the Youth wing of the BJP.
Also resigned with him are leaders including one Rajaram Kale and a couple of ward chiefs of the party.
