Goias region gets 5G network to test agribusiness IoT services

The government of the Brazilian state of Goias launched a 5G mobile internet network for agribusiness in Rio Verde, reports G1. The service will operate on an experimental basis for a year and the goal is increase the use of technology in the field and reduce operating costs. An internet station covering 200-300 km2 of rural countryside has been built, and the government will demonstrate 10 December applications for agribusiness using 5G technology. These include remote controlled drones to survey crops.
