Synopsis

"On 14th December, BJP offices will be gheraoed, protest demonstrations will be held in many parts of the country. We are also giving a call to farmers from other parts of the country to reach Delhi," said farmer leaders addressing the press.

The farmers have been protesting since November 26 against the three laws passed by Parliament in September. The farmers had on Tuesday enforced a national shutdown (Bharat Bandh) from 11 am to 3 pm, which was peaceful.
The farmer organisations today rejected the government's proposal and have called for a nationwide protest on December 14. The farmers have been protesting near national capital Delhi demanding that the three newly-enacted farm legislations be repealed. The groups have unequivocally stated that nothing short of a complete revocation of the three agri legislations and an official guarantee on Minimum Support Price will be acceptable to them.

The unions have threatened to intensify protests in coming days. " They conceded there have been mistakes. We insisted that all the three laws be repealed and assurance be given on MSP. The draft proposals are vague. We will block one road after another (roads leading to Delhi)," said farmer unions during the presser.

"On 14th December, BJP offices will be gheraoed, protest demonstrations will be held in many parts of the country. We are also giving a call to farmers from other parts of the country to reach Delhi. We will block Delhi-Jaipur highway by 12th December, " stated farmer organisations addressing the media.

Farm protests unify opposition
A delegation of senior opposition leaders led by former Congress president Rahul Gandhi and NCP chief Sharad Pawar and Left leaders Sitaram Yechury and D Raja met President Ram Nath Kovind and submitted a memorandum asking to repeal the new farm laws.

Govt's Draft Proposal
In a draft proposal sent to 13 agitating farmer unions, the centre said it is ready to provide all necessary clarifications on their concerns about the new farm laws enacted in September, but it did not mention anything about the main demand of protesting farmers for the repeal of the laws.

The farmers have been protesting since November 26 against the three laws passed by Parliament in September. The farmers had on Tuesday enforced a national shutdown (Bharat Bandh) from 11 am to 3 pm, which was peaceful.

too much ....if inspite of giving so much assurance by GOI if these select few from Punjab are adamant in their demand then let them rot...GOI, don't take back this law at any cost, it's beneficial for majority of farmers across India.
