Samsung has launched the 'Samsung Solve for Tomorrow' youth STEM competition in the UK, the first time the programme has been made available in the country.
The programme invites 16-25 year olds to submit technology ideas as groups or individuals to tackle the most pressing problems in their local community. The programme has four main challenge areas - education, social isolation, diversity & inclusion, and sustainability. It is being delivered in the UK in partnership with advanced digital technology innovation centre Digital Catapult.
The programme has three rounds, with the first round inviting applicants to submit ideas and optional creative presentation by 21 February 2021 online at Samsung.com. Samsung, Digital Catapult and industry experts will assess the ideas based on criteria such as collaboration, communication, creativity and critical thinking. Shortlisted ideas will be announced on 08 March 2021, with the selected projects supported to refine and prototype their ideas. The winner be announced in July 2021 after a competitive pitch process.
