Hitman 3 Gets New Gameplay Trailer, PS5 DualSense, PS VR Support Detailed

Developer IO Interactive has dropped a new gameplay trailer for Hitman 3, which shows Agent 47 doing what he does best: sneaking around and assassinating his targets. IO Interactive’s communications manager, Travis Barbour, has shared details about how the game will use PlayStation 5’s DualSense controller.

All guns in the game will support adaptive triggers on the DualSense controller to make them feel more authentic. Automatic weapons will simulate recoil with each bullet and every weapon will have unique haptic feedback that is tied to its sound profile. Barbour offered a specific example of sniper rifle’s Focus effect. The Focus effect can be activated by gently pushing the R2 button, which will now come with a tension point that players will need to apply pressure to kick in. Pushing beyond the tension point will allow players to feel the ‘click’ of the trigger as they fire the gun.

Barbour also revealed that Hitman 3 will have full PS VR support. Players can play the game in PS VR natively on PS4 or through backward compatibility on PS5. To streamline the experience, all PS5 players will get a free digital copy of PS4 version of Hitman 3. Players who own the previous Hitman games can also access locations from those games via Hitman 3.
