Telefonica has begun adding the Atresplayer Premium app of commercial broadcaster Atresmedia to the 4K STB of its Movistar+ pay-TV service, reports ADSL Zone. The operator has previously integrated Netflix content to Movistar+ and also offers Disney+ at no extra cost via the premium packages of its Fusion convergent offer. The latest move suggests Telefonica may add Atresmedia’s OTT platform to the offer available via its Movistar 4K STB, said the report.
Atresmedia revamped its Atresplayer Premium OTT platform last year with a view to better competing with rivals including Mediaset’s Mitele Plus streaming service. It comes with exclusive series that aren’t shown on Atresmedia’s free-to-air channels as well as early access to hit shows for EUR 2.99 a month. The broadcaster also has a free version of Atresplayer with access to a selection of shows, series and films from FTA channels including Antena 3.
