IND vs AUS 3rd T20 Live Score: Sundar strikes twice, sends Finch and Smith back

IND vs AUS 3rd T20 LIVE Score: Virat Kohli won the toss and elected to field first against Aaron Finch’s Australia at Sydney Cricket Ground. India eye for clean sweep, while the Aussies will fight for pride.

14:42: After 12 overs, 101/2

Mathew Wade is looking in good touch now. With Maxwell as he partner, however, Wade should try to build the partnership, while Maxi can do what he does best – Trouble the bowlers.

14:25: After 9 overs, 73/1

David Warner is certainly is being missed. He intimidates the opposition merely with his presence at the top of a batting order. And neither Finch nor Wade have that psychological effect. That’s why Warner & whoever his opening partner is usually given blistering starts for whichever team he plays. Wade and Finch is not the ideal opening combination.

14:11: End of powerplay; After 6 overs, 51/1

After an early blow in Aaron Finch, Wade and Smith have now taken charge of the play. The two will be crucial for Australia in the middle-overs.

13:59: After 3 overs, 27/1

That Finch wicket was a big blow for Australia. They will be hoping Wade and Smith stay at crease for long to help post a big total against the stronger Indian batting line-up.

13:46: After 2 overs, 14/1

Washington Sundar to Finch, out Caught by Hardik Pandya!! The Australian skipper is gone for a nought! Washington Sundar has his first wicket in the series. Bowls this on a good length outside off and Finch doesn’t quite get the leeway outside off to go hard, looks to lift it straight and he’s miscued it off the toe-end to mid-off. Hardik Pandya couldn’t have asked for a much simpler catch on the edge of the circle.

Australian team need a strong start if they want to save the clean sweep.

13:39: The players head out to the middle. Aaron Finch and Matthew Wade are opening for Australia.

13:17: Teams:

Australia (Playing XI): Aaron Finch(c), Matthew Wade(w), Steven Smith, Glenn Maxwell, D Arcy Short, Moises Henriques, Daniel Sams, Sean Abbott, Mitchell Swepson, Andrew Tye, Adam Zampa

India (Playing XI): KL Rahul(w), Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli(c), Sanju Samson, Hardik Pandya, Shreyas Iyer, Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar, T Natarajan, Yuzvendra Chahal
13:16: India have won the toss and have opted to field

Finch: We would have bowled first as well. It’s a used wicket and hopefully we’ll bat well tonight. We did see a bit of turn in the last game and expect the spinners to play key role in the middle overs. Only one change. I come in and Stoinis is out, he’s got a bit of niggle and It’s a long summer ahead and don’t want to take any chances and blow it up. No balls are something that’s killed us over the last few games and we want to control that going forward. Somewhere around 190 is what we are after and you got to be careful as this is a tough ground to defend. We gonna give it all tonight.

Kohli: We are going to bowl. Shorter boundaries and we had a good game last time and for the bowling line-up as well we wanted to be more professional and test ourselves. It’s been a really good year for us in terms of T20 cricket, if we keep staying ahead of the opposition, and as a group we want to make sure we keep getting those results and win games of cricket. No changes.

13:05: Aaron Finch was seen with gloves during the warm-up, he might make his return today

12:56:

Australia Possible XI: Matthew Wade (c & wk), D’Arcy Short/Alex Carey, Steve Smith, Moises Henriques, Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, Daniel Sams, Andrew Tye, Mitchell Swepson, Adam Zampa.

India Possible XI: Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul (wk), Virat Kohli (c), Sanju Samson, Shreyas Iyer, Hardik Pandya, Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar, T Natarajan, Yuzvendra Chahal.

12:48: Two players who will be in spotlight today

D’Arcy Short‘s place in Australia’s broader T20 plans ahead of next year’s World Cup may well be under review after his two outings in this series. He has been on the fringes for some time now and was not initially selected in the squad. He came into the squad only after David Warner was ruled out, but has not been able to fill in the void. Short has failed to bring his Big Bash League (BBL) form to the T20Is for Australia. In his last 11 T20 internationals over a two-year period he has scored just 190 runs at 17.27, without a half-century, at an alarming strike-rate of just 95.95. He also hasn’t bowled a ball in this series.

T Natarajan could make a case to be player of the series on Tuesday if he continues his stunning form. Hardik Pandya thought he should have been Player of the Match in the second T20I at the SCG producing stunning figures of 2 for 20 on a surface where most of the fast bowlers copped a hiding. His left-arm variety, exceptional skills, and ability to execute under pressure could make him a vital part of India’s T20 attack heading into the World Cup.

12:38: What can we expect today?

It will be a bit cold today in Sydney. Expect some jumpers today, and maybe even with some hand warmers in the pocket, like Kohli had in Canberra.

The action should revert to the more central pitch on the square, which should eliminate the short boundary quandary that both batting and bowling teams have to contend with, unless of course when you have Hardik Pandya on strike.

12:36: So its time now!! Stay tuned for all the updates
