CM Punk has always been a hot brand of controversy with WWE fans--and the company itself for that matter--and the former WWE Champion didn't disappoint on RenΓ©e Paquette's Oral Sessions podcast this week.
The two former WWE stars talked about some hot topics hovering above professional wrestling including side hustles and unionization. Unionization in professional wrestling has been talked about for almost 40 years now, going back to Jesse Ventura knocking heads with Vince McMahon and Hulk Hogan about being pro-union and how Hogan was against it.
Paquette went on to ask about why we don't have that and if it's ever a possibility. Punk didn't think so.
"No, and this is because there's no such thing as 'the boys,'" Punk explained. "It's a trope. 'Oh we're on the road and these people are our family' and like I said once you're out of the bubble, you don't hear from anybody anymore."
"Those people don't pay your bills. There's always going to be a handful of people that will undercut everybody else just to get ahead a little bit. And there seems to be a lot of people that not only are just by nature are bootlickers--they just love the taste. So they just. You're supposed to lick the boot. You're not supposed to eat the entire thing."
Zelina Vega was released from WWE, which reportedly was about her continued use of Twitch. Vega, now going by her real name Thea Trinidad, didn't want to give hers up which garnered a lot of media attention. Even Presidential candidate Andrew Yang spoke out against WWE's classification of their talent as "independent contractors." As of December 7, Trinidad got her name back for Twitch as it was previously being used by another streamer.
Guys π₯Ί itβs happened! I got my name back from someone who took my name on #twitch I am sooo happy!!! Thank you @Twitch for working so quickly! 1 more to go! Twitter has been a long process but getting there :)

Paquette announced earlier this year that she will have a cookbook out in May of next year, a project she's been hyping for quite some time.
