Mobile tribunals should be set up to solve land disputes: AP CM

Vijayawada, Dec 8 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy asked the officials concerned to set up ‘mobile tribunals’ to solve the land disputes and provide the required vehicles and other facilities for the purpose.

The Chief Minister here on Tuesday reviewed the comprehensive land survey programme, titled 'YSR Jagananna Saswatha Bhoomi Hakku-Bhoomi Rakshana', scheduled for launch on December 21.

The Chief Minister said the land registration services should be provided at the village secretariat once the survey is completed and maps are prepared, he said and added that any changes required in the village secretariat for it should be done.

He said the Comprehensive land survey would benefit the people and attempts are being made to disrupt the programme by vested interest by propagating false information and creating confusion among the people.

Mr.Jagan Reddy said accurate information should be provided to people to remove any doubts among them. He said that best training and orientation should be given to the staffers who participate in the comprehensive land survey.

The Chief Minister directed the officials to secure the records after the completion of the survey in such a way that no one can tamper with them and added that the security features should be tough and the hard copy should be with the landowners. He also directed the officials to set up a new college in Tirupati in at least 50 acres for training in survey. The college should be constructed along with a comprehensive survey, he said.

The Officials told the Chief Minister that survey to be conducted to an extent of 1.26 lakh square KMs covering over 17,000 villages in three phases. They apprised him that each mandal would have one drone team, a data processing team and a resurvey team. The 9,400 surveyors were given training by Survey of India and for the remaining people, it would be completed soon. The Officials said an MoU would be signed with Survey of India on December 9.

Deputy Chief Minister Dharmana Krishna Das, Chief Secretary Nilam Sawhney, CCLA Neerab Kumar Prasad, Principal Advisor Ajeya Kallam, and other officials were present at the meeting.
