Restaurants are inherently risky businesses, and this year the coronavirus pandemic has had a terrible impact on the industry. Despite their enormous efforts, some of our award-winning restaurants—from long-honored classics to exciting newcomers—have been forced to close their doors for good.

As of Dec. 8, 2020, 42 Restaurant Award winners have closed.

Wine Spectator is grateful for their involvement in our Restaurant Awards program and their dedication to building exceptional wine lists. We look forward with anticipation to learning about new paths and new ventures from these businesses and wine professionals.
