Six arrested for crushing man to death over petty dispute in Thane

Thane, Dec 7 (UNI) The city police on Monday arrested six persons on the alleged charges of crushing to death a 38 year old man over a petty dispute the police said.

The police Control Room at kalian said that the accused have been charged under section 302 of the IPC and FIR registered with the Manpada police station at Dombivili.

The police said that there was a dispute between the victim, Sashank mahajan, and the others. After the situation calmed down at the hotel where they were having dinner the victim started walking back alone at around 2.00 a.m.

The accused persons coming in a car from behind crushed the victim. The victim who was badly injured was rushed to the hospital by those nearby and was declared brought dead the police said.

The local police who immediately after the incident arrested the accused did not not reveal their names and just said that all the accused and the victim were friends for long.

It was not not immediately known as to what provocated the incident and what was the reason for the quarrel.
