US based sales and rental company Select Crane Sales has taken delivery of a Wolff 166 B hydraulic luffing jib tower crane for which will be based at its New Jersey branch.
The Wolff 166 B was announced in 2012 and offers a maximum lift capacity of 12 tonnes when dual reeved or six tonnes on a single line. It has a jib length of up to 55 metres in five metre increments, while maximum jib tip capacity on the 55 metre jib is 1.8 tonnes increasing to 2.8 tonnes at 50 metres. The standard jib mounted hoist can handle up to 500 metres of rope, all of which can be reeved on the ground before the crane is erected.

Select’s Jason Mackenzie said: “The Wolff 166 B is the most compact luffing jib crane in the 160 tm class. The compact design provides for cost savings when transporting and assembling. Although compact, it offers peak performance in small places and is an ideal tower for city construction. It is equipped with safety devices including an electronic overload protection system, working space limiter, anti-collision interface and electronic controlled level luffing. It offers internal and external climbing system as well as a temperature controlled operator cab.”
