Russian national operator Rostelecom has started a project to expand the outdoor video-surveillance system in seven municipalities of the Yamal region. Under the framework of the Safe City programme, more than 500 video-cameras will be installed in the cities and towns of Gubkinskiy, Labytnangi, Muravlenko, Nadym, Urengoy, Noyabrsk and Tarko-Sale.
The operator will deploy telecom links, as well as servers to support of the system. Smart devices will transfer the video-content to the regional video-surveillance system having its data storage located in the city of Salekhard.
