Maharashtra: Villagers rescue two children stranded on rock in creek

A woman was sighted with the two children earlier
KALYAN: Villagers rescued two children, including a six-month-old infant, trapped on a huge rock in a creek at Kachore village at 3.30pm on Monday. They claimed that they had seen a woman with the children earlier.
The other child is around two years old.
Ganesh Mukadam, who along with relatives Amit and Tejas rescued the children, said, "We saw the children on the rock crying. We rescued both."
Amit said the tide was rising, and if they had not reached on time, the children would have not survived. The villagers informed Vishnu Nagar police, who have started a search for the family.
Sandeep Chaudhari said, "Some villagers claimed that they saw a woman, who could be the mother. Acting on that information the fire brigade and police searched the creek but could not find any woman."
Police said till they find the family, the children would be looked after by them, and a probe is on.
