Three more fall victim to COVID-19

Imphal, December 07 2020: During the last 24 hours, three more individuals aged 56 (male, Bishnupur), 65 (male, Churachandpur) and 70 (female, Bishnupur) expired at RIMS and JNIMS, taking the official COVID-19 death toll to 309 .

The official figure still has not included the deaths of an Army Colonel and a 42 year old man from Imphal West.

The total thus stands at 311.According to a press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, 152 people including one personnel of CAPF were tested positive for the virus during the last 24 hours at JNIMS, RIMS, Imphal West, Maipakpi Hospital, Mother's Care Hospital, Swiss Clinic, Shija Hospital, Christian Hospital, Jivan Hospital, Hillside Hospital, Raj Medicity, Escent Diagnostics, Thoubal, Bishnupur, Churachandpur, Chandel, Senapati, Tamenglong, Noney, Kamjong and Babina Diagnostics.

The 151 civilians who have been tested positive belong to Imphal West (61), Imphal East (44), Thoubal (14), Bishnupur (4), Kakching (1), Tamenglong (1), Tengnoupal (1), Senapati (2), Kamjong (2), Churachandpur (16), Chandel (1) and Noney (4) .

All of them are locals who do not have any significant travel history.

On the other hand, 149 COVID-19 positive people were discharged during the last 24 hours from CAPF (2), home isolation (97), RIMS (13), JNIMS (7), CCC Lamboi Khongnangkhong (10), CCC UNACCO (3), RD Wing (3), ShijaHospital (4), Chandel (1), Bal Bhavan (3), Bishnupur (1), Tamenglong (2), Jiribam (1) and Kangpokpi (2) .

The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 26,225 (general population 23,043 and Central security personnel 3,182).It includes 2,919 active cases (general population 2,658 and Central security personnel 261) and 22,997 discharged cases (general population 20,080 and Central security personnel 2,917) .

The recovery rate stands at 87.69 per cent.

Of all the people who tested positive for the contagion in Imphal West district today, 11 are residents of Konthoujam Makha Leikai, eight of Uchiwa Leirak Achouba, four of Taobungkhok and four of Naran Konjil.
