The Digital Scotland Superfast Broadband roll-out in the Highlands, led by Highlands & Islands Enterprise, is making its final connections before handing over to the Scottish Government's Reaching 100% (R100) programme.
The Digital Scotland roll-out across the Highlands & Islands has reached more than 193,000 homes and businesses across the region, with gigabit services recently landing in South Whiteness, Shetland. The roll-out has been delivered by Openreach, creating a core fibre network across the region from Shetland to Kintyre. The R100 successor programme will start roll-out in northern Scotland in 2021.
