Puri, Dec 8 (UNI) Sri Jagannath temple administration has dismissed the allegation of theft of Moon and Sun artifacts from Nagarjun vesha kept in the temple museum under the disposal of the temple security officer.
It was alleged in a section of media that Moon and Sun artifacts made of solopith and part of Nagarjun Vesha were taken away by a temple employee and handed over to a senior servitor.
Temple chief administrator Dr Krishan Kumar directed Jitendra Kumar Sahu the administrator rituals to conduct a probe into it.
In a press release, the temple administration said
Servitor Balaram Khuntia was entrusted the job to prepare the Vesha and a copy of Vesha parts of 1994 was given to him.
The list did not have the Moon and Sun artifacts to be prepared in solopith. Sun and moon made of gold used in the Nagarjun Vesha were drawn from temple treasury and returned after unmade of vesha the release added.
The list of Vesha parts was compared to that of servitor list and there was no discrepancy.
The servitor had prepared two set of Moon and Sun artifacts in solopith but the administrator refused to receive those.
Those two sets were taken by two servitors. The temple has nothing to do over it, the press release said.
Nagarjun Vesha is kept in the temple museum and non of its parts were missing, the release said.
