Jharkhand: Two pump operators trapped as water gets inside Khudiya Colliery of ECL in Dhanbad

Dhanbad, Dec 8 (UNI) Two pump operators were trapped on Tuesday as water gushed inside the BP Incline quardih section of the Khudiya colliery located in Mugma area of the Eastern Coalfields Ltd (ECL).
ECL officials said that the two operators-- Basiya Manjhi and Manik Bauri-- are trapped and rescue teams have been pressed in to bring them out safely.
Sources said that four pump operators had got inside the mine but two of them--Sameer Tudu and Vikas Bhuiyaan--somehow managed to come out.
Nirsa MLA Aparna Sengupta, former MLA Arup Chatterjee, SDPO Vijay Kumar Kushwaha reached the spot and inquired into the incident.
Rescue teams from Sanktodia headquarters and other areas are trying to rescue the trapped men.
Four pumps are being used to take out water and an NDRF team from Ranchi has been called in to assist in the rescue operation.
