Polish operator Polkomtel, trading under the Plus brand, said that there were 5.2 inhabitants under coverage of its 5G network across the country at the end of November. Over 150 sites will be covered with the operator's 5G 2,600 Mhz TDD network by the end of 2021.
The operator launched 5G services in May, covering the cities of Warsaw, Lodz, Gdansk, Katowice, Szczecin, Poznan and Wroclaw. The network now also covers the cities as Jelenia Gora, Bydgoszcz, Torun, Biala Podlaska, Zielona Gora, Radom, Opole, Rzeszow, Gdansk, Gdynia, Sopot, Czestochowa, Gliwice, Bielsko-Biala, Chorzow, Olsztyn and more.
Next year, Plus plans to reach the threshold of 1,700 5G senders, covering more than 11 million residents.
