Vasco: Verna police have arrested a labour supervisor working in a firm at IDC Verna, following a narcotics raid at Cumborda Verna.
As per available information, upon credible information narcotic raid was conducted by Verna police at Cumborda Verna, in the evening of December 5. Narcotic substance such as ganja weighing 2.157 kg all worth Rs 2,15,700 was seized from the possession of the accused Simanchal Swaim (32), native of Odisha.
The accused was placed under arrest, under various sections of NDPS Act.
The alleged accused had come down to Goa some three years ago and was working as a labour supervisor in a firm at IDC Verna.
A police team led by Verna PI Sherif Jaques, police sub-inspectors Pravin Simapuraskar and Sanket Talkar, police constables Nilesh Kaskar, Ajit Naik, Videsh Naik and Girish Naik participated in the raid. Further investigation is in progress under the supervision of superintendent of police South Pankaj Singh.
