Shell has emerged as the preferred bidder for Post Office's broadband operations and is now in exclusive talks to buy the business, reports Sky News.
The Post Office has around 500,000 broadband customers, with TalkTalk and Sky having also expressed an interest in the business. Shell Energy Retail has around 130,000 broadband customers in the UK. A deal, for less than GBP 100 million, is expected to take several weeks to finalise, according to unnamed sources.
