Deutsche Telekom said it has equipped the University Hospital Bonn (UKB) with a 5G campus network. The aim of the project was to facilitate the communication between the departments at UKB and to enable the fast transmission of large amounts of data, for example from CT, MRI and other imaging systems.
The category M 5G campus network is based on frequencies in the 3.6 GHz band and will help improve the treatment of emergency patients. The University Hospital wants to completely digitise operations in the future and use artificial intelligence to treat patients.
