More deaths in Tiger Reserve Bandhavgarh

At the same time, Bandhavgarh, the second-largest tiger reserve in Madhya Pradesh, is third in the country with 38 tigers killed. Even though the Madhya Pradesh government and forest officials are happy that the state will become a tiger state again, the impact of this success is not visible on tiger management. Madhya Pradesh also ranks first in the country in terms of tiger deaths this year. This has been revealed by the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) report.

Tigers are heavy for four months

Madhya Pradesh tops the report released by the NTCA on tigers dying across the country between 2012 and 2019. If the addition of 26 tiger deaths is added to this year i.e. in 2020, then the number of tigers dying in the state becomes 198. According to the report, the highest number of tigers are killed in January, March, and December. In May also, the death toll remains around this.

Weak ourselves, blame others

Between 2012 and 2019, an average of 86 tigers has been killed in January, 85-85 in March and December, and 80 in May. The lowest deaths were 35 in September and 38 in October. Villagers living around the protected area are usually blamed for the death of the tiger, but conditions within the tiger reserve are also poor. This is corroborated by the NTCA report. Tigers are dying even when there are no villagers in the reserves.
