Police are searching for a suspect who shot two people — killing one — in a downtown Salt Lake City apartment building early Saturday morning.
A man was killed and a woman was critically injured in the shooting at the Milagro Apartments at 241 W. 200 South shortly before 4 a.m. on Saturday. They are believed to be in their early 20s. Police have not released their names, and have provided no description of the shooter. Police did say they believe there’s no ongoing threat.
FOX 13 obtained a letter that managers of the apartment complex sent to residents that said the shooting happened inside an elevator while it was on the seventh floor; that neither the shooter nor the man who was killed are residents of the apartments; and that the woman who was wounded does live there.
Officials have not confirmed the information in the letter. Anyone who has information about the shooting is asked to call police at 801-799-3000.
