Polestar's vegan upholstery earned the electric vehicle brand a starring role in the 40th anniversary celebration of the country's biggest animal rights group.
A Polestar 2 is the top item up for bid in an online auction being held this month by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. The car's seats are covered in a material called WeaveTech, which Polestar says was inspired by wetsuits and doesn't use any animal products.
"Polestar proves that innovative animal-free interiors and climate-conscious electric models are the future of the auto industry," PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman said in a statement. "PETA is delighted to celebrate 40 years of victories for animals and to offer our compassionate supporters this exciting opportunity to 'ride without the hide' in style."
