NSG, police conduct anti-terror exercise

Panaji: National Security Guard (NSG), the country’s elite contingency force along with the Goa police are conducting anti-terror exercise in which mock drills are being conducted at various vital installations in the state.

On Monday, the mock drills were conducted at the Goa assembly complex Porvorim, Margao railway station as well as in two locations in the capital city.

Owing to the exercise, traffic was also affected in the city in the late evening.

According to the police officials, such exercises are conducted to check the preparedness of various agencies which include police, fire and other government agencies. The mock drill will continue also on Tuesday.

Last month, the Director General of Police (DGP) Mukesh Kumar Meena had held a meeting with the Inspector General (operations) of the National Security Guard (NSG) V S Ranade to discuss strengthening of the anti-terror and security protocols in Goa.

The meet was held at the police headquarters in the city.
