Man remanded to 4-day judicial custody for assaulting son

Margao: Umar Shaik a resident of Navelim arrested by Margao police for assaulting his son with a sharp weapon was produced before the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Margao on Monday and a four day judicial custody remand was taken.

Margao police said that his son Muzahil Shaik has been admitted to Margao Hospicio hospital and his condition is improving.

In an ugly incident a father stabbed his son with a knife at Navelim last Thursday evening. Police said that an offence has been registered against the father. Police said that a statement from the injured has been recorded. 

Sources in the police said that the father Umar Shaik a resident of Navelim and a carpenter by profession and his son entered into an argument and in a fit of rage the father allegedly assaulted his son with a sharp weapon. Police said that the son Muzahil is unemployed.
