Czech regulator CTU has issued a measure of general nature for the Radio Spectrum Utilisation Plan, regarding the 24.2-27.5 GHz frequency band. The measure became effective from 15 November, laying out the technical characteristics and conditions for using the frequency band for radiocommunication services. The band is currently used mainly for fixed service but is expected to be accessed for mobile services in future. Use of the band by point-to-multipoint networks was terminated, and conditions were set for fixed point-to-point links on wide channels.
The 24.25–27.5 GHz frequency band is being harmonised globally for mobile IMT communication. The band has been named a priority for 5G network deployment in EU states.
