Seven killed in road accident in B'desh

Dhaka, Dec 7 (UNI) Seven people including three members of a family were killed and ten others injured in a head-on collision between a bus of BRTC and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw at Habiganj in Bangladesh on Monday afternoon.

The incident took place near Shah Mushkil Ahsan mazar area at Fultoli bazar under Gajnaipur union in Nabiganj upazila in Bangladesh around 1645 hrs.

Six of the deceased were identified as Samirun Begum, 28, wife of Abu Taher of Muraura village of the upazila, her daughter Maria Akter, 2, Halima Begum, 25, wife of Anu Miah, Antar Miah, 22, son of Nurul Islam, of Sataihal village and Kitab Ali, 30.

Confirming the matter to UNI, Ershadul Haque Bhuiyan, officer-in-charge of Sherpur Highway Police Station, said a Sylhet-bound bus of BRTC collided head-on with the auto-rickshaw in the area and later the two vehicles fell into the roadside ditch. Seven people died on the spot and ten others were also injured.

Islamabad, Dec 7(UNI) Peshawar's Khyber Teaching Hospital (KTH) on Monday suspended 7 of their officials, including the hospital's Medical Teaching Institution (MTI) director, after an inquiry found them guilty of negligence which led to a shortage of oxygen supply which caused the deaths of at least six patients in the hospital.
