A host of services could be impacted during the December 8 Bharat Bandh called by farmer unions.

There could be problems for commuters as some auto and taxi unions in Delhi have decided to back the farmers' call.

A number of other unions, however, said they would continue to offer normal service.

Several unions of bank workers have also supported the farmers' cause, which means there is a possibility that banking services could end up being affected at some places.

According to reports available thus far, emergency services such as hospitals and ambulances will be allowed to fuction normally. However, some other key services such as milk or vegetable supplies could be disrupted because of the strike.

Farmers are staging a protest at the borders of the capital city against Modi government's three new farm laws. They fear that the MSP system is in peril in the wake of the new legislations, and that corporates could end up controlling the fate of farmers in times to come.

The pan-India strike has assumed more importance after Opposition parties, including many regional ones, decided to lend support to the protesting farmers.

Top political leaders such as Congress president Sonia Gandhi, NCP's Sharad Pawar, CPI(M)'s Sitaram Yechury, DMK's M K Stalin and PAGD's Farooq Abdullah issued a joint statement in support of the bandh.

What can the political parties extending support to Bharat Bandh have to offer to the people of India? Except for lawlessness, autocracy, plutocracy, dictatorship of party syndicates, chaos, anarchy, loot of public funds in the name of the poor/farmers/SC-ST etc. they have nothing to offer even in the next 10 or 20 years as they had not offered anything in the last 10 or 20 years to the farmers.Which of these parties can claim that they had helped the farmers double their income? Had these parties reached good schools to farmers's children? Have they provided computers to farmers' children? Their own children/grandchildren and great grand children are provided iPads from age 18 months, smart phones age 1 year, books and magazines age 6 as soon as these children start sitting, they are fed what the farmers children even do not see. The sentimental press and media shedding sympathy on farmers' plight in the open in this harsh winter do not even understand the lifestyle of farmers in India, their chemistry with Nature and their strength. Because these people are so low on integrity and truth that the farmers keep them miles away from the venue. Still these shameless guys reach there for photo op. Sickening! And the enemies/traitors surviving on social charity in countries like Canada, USA, Europe, Pakistan, UK stage drama for publicity insulting themselves and their parents and country. None of them, BUT ONLY Narendra Modi can instil some discipline in their mind and law.
