Letter: Herbert fails science class

(Kristin Murphy | Deseret News, pool) Gov. Gary Herbert speaks during a COVID-19 press briefing at the Capitol in Salt Lake City on Thursday, Dec. 3, 2020.

Utah Gov. Gary “Available Jones” Herbert thinks the COVID virus is like second-hand smoke in that it’s bad for you. He should have taken more science classes in college.

If second-hand smoke infected you so you started spewing more second-hand smoke to everyone around you, and they, in turn, did the same, we would have all died from second-hand smoke by now.

Thankfully most people don’t smoke cigarettes and hopefully we’ll have leaders who understand and respect science in the future.

Republicans have shown time and again they aren’t fit to lead when science should be heeded.
