Jalna, Dec 7 (UNI) The Anti-Corruption Bureau on Monday arrested a talathi (revenue officer), attached with Sajja-Pabewadi in Ghansavangi taluka of the district, while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 2,000 from a complainant.
The alleged accused, Ravindra Vaidhya (43), had sought Rs 2,000 as bribe from the complainant who wanted to register his mother's name on the family's land certificate after the demise of his father.
However, reluctant to pay the bribe, the complainant lodged a complaint with the city unit of ACB, whose team laid a trap near the overbridge at the station road here and caught red-handed Vaidhya while accepting the bribe money from the complainant.
A case under sections 7, 13(1)(D) and 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act of 2018 has been registered with the concerned police station against the talathi, sources in ACB said.
