MP CM participates in BJP's Vel Yatra in TN

Chennai, Dec 7 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister
Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Monday participated in the
concluding event of the Tamilnadu BJP unit's 'Vel Yatra'
at the temple town of Tiruchendur, one of the six abodes
of Lord Muruga.
Earlier, State BJP President L Murugan received
Mr Chouhan at the temple.
Led by Mr Murugan, the Vetri Vel Yatra commenced
on November six at the temple town of Tiruttani after
worshipping Lord Muruga despite the ruling AIADMK
not giving permission for it citing the corona pandemic.
However, scores of BJP cadres, including Mr Murugan
went ahead with the Yatra and courted arrest on a
number of occasions for defying the ban.
Though the BJP has decided to cover several religious
towns, it did not do so due to the recent cyclones and
announced that the Yatra would end at Tiruchendur
today as against December six, announced earlier.
Speaking to the media gathered outside the Tiruchendur
temple, Mr Murugan said the main aim of the Yatra was
to pray for the well being of the people of the country
amidst challenging times, where almost every household
was affected by Corona.
He also said that BJP's aim was to ensure the safety
and happiness of people in the State and it willing to
conduct more yatras.
