New Delhi, Dec 7 (UNI) The cases of Novel Coronavirus in the national capital have started recording a downward trend, with 1,674 fresh infections and 63 deaths registered in the past 24 hours, as per the official health bulletin issued on Monday evening.
With this, the overall COVID-19 tally of the Union Territory surged to 5,93,924, while active caseload stood at 22,486. The total number of fatalities here has crossed the 9,700-mark.
As per the health bulletin, the recovery rate in Delhi also increased in the last 24 hours to 94.57 per cent from 93.55 per cent on Thursday, with total recovered patients at 5,61,732.
Delhi's positivity rate plummeted to 3.15 per cent, according to Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain.
The Minister further said that this was the lowest positivity rate in the past six months and urged the citizens to keep practising the COVID-19 precautions.
'In a month positivity declined to 3.15 pc today from 15.26 pc on 7th Nov. During the same period RTPCR positivity reduced to 6.68 pc from 30.20 pc. Lowest positivity in the last 6 months. Steadily corona cases and positivity coming down.Hope this will continue. Please observe all precautions,' Mr Jain posted on micro-blogging site Twitter.
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had said on Sunday, 'I am glad that the third wave also seems to be getting weak. Delhi fought a v difficult war against corona.'
