After staying around the same level for three weeks, fresh Covid-19 cases in India fell this week by around 16%. With this, the weekly count of cases is now down by nearly two-thirds (62%) from its peak in September 6-13. Importantly, there are no signs yet of a second wave in the country. However, death toll has shown no decline in the past four weeks, hovering around the 3,500 mark. Meanwhile, active cases in India fell below 4 lakh for the first time in 139 days.
