J&K LG's four 'P' mantras for present, new future

Jammu, Dec 5 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday batted for four 'P' mantras for present and new future to create sustainable development, growth prospects depending on policies inclusive and people-centric.



Delivering a key note address at the IIT-2020 Global Summit, organised by PanIIT USA, the LG here on Saturday morning, the LG said, "We are devising new path, new policies, new technological tools to strengthen our business ecosystem for post-pandemic world."

"I have 4 Mantras for the 'Present’ and a ‘New Future’-Peace, Progress, Prosperity and People-First," said Mr Sinha adding, "in order to create sustainable development, our growth prospects must depend on policies that are inclusive, people-centric."

"We are nourishing our business ecosystem to life and engineering the sustainable future," said the Lt Governor and added that in India we have an oasis of talent, it may look like a small drop on the global stage, but they are tributaries of a great river of technology innovation and evolution.

"IITs and IITians have again demonstrated their capabilities by coming up with innovative solutions to tackle COVID," he said.

Mr Sinha said that the young population is ready to be an entrepreneur and contribute for ‘AatmNirbhar Jammu Kashmir’, adding, "we have a conducive environment, a robust Grass-Root democratic system and talented young men and women armed with new ideas to set up innovative business and services."

He said that now that we are becoming a ‘remote society’ in which virtual is the new normal, there is a hasten demand for closer cooperation between the academia and the industry.

"The appetite for solutions that is in harmony with nature and humankind is much more today to facilitate smoother transformation from withering away pre-covid to post-covid era world is eagerly awaiting fo," said LG Sinha, adding that the world economy would require extensive focus on at least six sectors- Infrastructure, Services, Industries, Start-ups, Agriculture and Technology where new entrepreneurs would need hand holding and other assistance.

"The industry sector in today's environment requires a new language - of re-engineering, of creative solutions, of transforming small and medium enterprises," he added.

COVID-19: Classes I to VIIIth suspended till March in MP

Bhopal, Dec 4 (UNI) Even as Madhya Pradesh battles the ‘millennium scourge’, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced on Friday that there will be no classes for pupils of the first to eighth standard till March 31, 2021.
“Such students shall be evaluated on the basis of project work. Board examinations will be eventually conducted for Xth and XIIth classes and their lectures will commence in the near future while observing social distancing plus other precautions. Those in the ninth and 11th standards shall be called to school for a day or two in a week,” the senior politician was officially quoted as saying at Mantralaya while reviewing the School Education Department.
