Punjab: Ludhiana reports 104 new Covid-19 cases, 5 deaths

LUDHIANA: Ludhiana on Saturday reported 104 new Covid-19 cases and 5 deaths. According to the deputy commissioner Varinder Sharma, the number of Covid-19 patients getting cured in the district is increasing with each passing day. He said that there are 882 active patients in the district at present.
He said that a total of 104 patients (77 new patients from district Ludhiana and 27 from other states/districts) have tested positive in the last 24 hours time. He further said that till date, a total of 474786 samples have been taken, out of which report of 4,71,178 samples have been received, of which 4,44,503 samples were found negative while report of 3,608 samples were pending. He said that now, the total number of patients related to Ludhiana is 23,338, while 3,337 patients are related to other districts/states.
5 patient lost their lives on Saturday (2 from district Ludhiana while one each from districts Jalandhar, Patiala and state Uttar Pradesh). Now, the total number of persons who lost their lives include 915 people from Ludhiana and 395 from other districts.
He informed that till date, 51,851 persons have been kept under home quarantine in the district and at present, the number of such persons is 2,433. Today, 212 persons were sent for home quarantine.
