Winter session of Chhattisgarh Assy from Dec 21-30, CS reviews preparations

Raipur, Dec 5 (UNI)The ninth session (winter session) of the fifth Assembly of Chhattisgarh will be held from 21 to 30 December 2020. Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain discussed preparations for the session with Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries and Special Secretaries (Independent Charge) of all the departments through video conferencing. Mr Jain instructed to constitute Assembly Cells and appoint Nodal Officers in departments during the session.
He said that the works of legal affairs (Bills) should be provided to the Assembly Secretariat seven days before the scheduled start of the session and all necessary preparations should be made for discussion over the Bills. Replies of pennding assurances should be provided to Assembly before commencement of the session. Letters-reporters-literatures to be tabled in the House should also be provided to the assembly on time, he said.
The Chief Secretary instructed for instant action on the reports of various committees of the assembly, answers of incomplete questions, resolutions, assurances, zero hour notices, petitions, calling attention notices and adjournement notices.
He said that during the session, leave of subordinate officers and employees should not be sanctioned except for unavoidable reasons. Proposals outside the state should not be made unless necessary during the session. Mr Jain instructed to ensure compulsory presence of departmental officers in the official gallery of the assembly during the session. He said that the latest information about the action taken by the departments on manifesto 2018 should be prepared and if necessary, it should be provided to the Legislative Assembly. Mr Jain instructed to make preparations for immediate discussion on subjects of public importance. Secretary of Parliamentary Affairs Sonamani Borah and Secretary of General Administration Department DD Singh were also present at the review meeting.
